My personal mission is to determine purpose in all of my endeavors, pursue passions that have been revealed to me, and demonstrate integrity in my life. The mission also consists of living a fulfilled life by taking advantage of new opportunities and continuously pursuing my quest for knowledge - by meeting new people, traveling to new places, and being receptive to new ideas. My ultimate goal is to place a hand in impacting and enhancing the lives of others. In all, I recognize that my personal mission cannot and will not be fulfilled without the grace of God; the source of my strength, my happiness, and my life.
I wanted to start my first post by sharing my mission statement. I am a firm believer in making things tangible (or real) in our own eyes. Many times do our thoughts just wash away in our minds because there is nothing tangible associated with them. Therefore, like the mere shake of an Etch-a-Sketch, the precious thoughts and ideas in our minds can be lost. The same can be said in how we position ourselves to lead our lives. If we have nothing tangible to grasp, we too can lose focus on the goals we have in our lives. I believe a written mission statement only aides in holding ourselves accountable and strengthening our determination in obtaining our goals. With this being said, I ask, "Do you have a mission statement?" If so, I would love for you to share. If not, I definitely encourage that you take the time to develop one. (I would like to note that it doesn't have to be done overnight, but I strongly recommend that you take the time and really think about what your mission is. If you do have one, it can always change and be strengthened).
God Bless
I admire the fact that you actually have and have written down a mission statement in life. It's been a constant thought in my head ever since I started using a Franklin Covey planner (pre-smart phones) oh, ages ago. Clearly, I have yet to pen it down sucinctly but I keep a journal, and in rereading my journal entries at times, I realize I have rooted my life in this thought: God has an incredible, amazing plan for each one of our lives because he Love us immensely. As such, my life, in developing, using my talents and skills, in building and nurturing sincere, genuine relationships, in seizing opportunities to make a difference in others' lives, one moment, one person, one shared experience at a time, by sharing what and all I can, is but a response to that Love. It is also an adventure wherein through it all, I simply hope to keep discovering what life is truly all about and in discovering, achieve and hopefully bring joy and happiness.
ReplyDeleteGes, Definitely GOD has an awesome plan in our lives and it is up to us to carry it out. But first we must recognize and embrace it. His love is awesome and our lives should and must be a reflection of His love for us. Life itself will keep revealing to us its secrets and prayerfully your search to keep discovering such treasures will be fulfilled and strengthen your purpose. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
ReplyDeleteEloquently put and powerfully driven. I have had several friends suggest creating a personal mission statement. You being another I think it's time for me to go ahead and vision to create one....will share when it's complete. Much love/blessings. :)
ReplyDeleteYes Dani, I definitely think it is time....it will be one of the first steps into fulfilling that purpose, realizing that vision, and make dreams reality
